Experiencing Your Own Limits

As you look to yourself to find the answers you need, and as you establish your own identity according to your own understanding and standards, know I will continue to draw you away and bring you closer into the reality I have in store for you. Even though you would look to yourself to be your own salvation, I have plans for you to bring you out of those things, as I bring you into a place of knowing me face to face. I will bring you into a place of true, lasting salvation not dependant on your efforts, nor your understanding. (1)

This awareness will spawn great confidence, security in your heart and mind, and stability in your life and behavior, for you will know you are not trusting in your own self, but are trusting in me. You know, the wisdom of man is foolishness, though it makes sense to your mind. You know my ways will not always make sense to you, just as my timing does not always make sense to you. You are surrounded by so much you do not understand, by so much you cannot control, nor affect, so how could you ever presume to make your own way, or to make your own salvation? (2)

Surely many things you experience serve the primary purpose to reveal, but also define, your limits. Many things you experience will cause you to come to the realization you cannot do it by yourself. You will come to acknowledge you own strength and abilities, and your lack thereof, for you will become confronted with the futility of your own limits. Even though my grace is available to all, many will choose the path of resistance, the path of rebellion, or the path of pride. These paths, though masquerading as wisdom in the short term will prove fruitless in the long term as they produce resistance, difficulty, and unnecessary hardship. (3)

So as you feel death coming upon you, remember these things are coming about to help awaken your sense, and sharpen your vision. These experiences will help frame your perspective allowing you to perceive, know, and realize your limits. In this seeming death to self-reliance, you will be raised to walk in a life free of limitations, free from boundaries placed on you by circumstances. My grace will surpass all these things and will meet you consistently, time and time again, in the time and places of need. So know, as you choose the path of dying to yourself, you are choosing the path of life to your spirit. (4)

Even though this path is difficult, it is righteous. And even though this path will hurt, it will be good. Even though this path may seem costly, it will be stable and will bear much fruit in years to come. Surely the good plans I have in store for you will lead you to the place of ultimate fulfillment. Even though it may not come quickly, and may not appear the way you think it will or should, it will come, for these are my good plans for you, for those who will follow and obey. (5)
