Do not be surprised at the painful trials you are experiencing, as if something strange were happening to you. Do not think you have heard me incorrectly, nor consider you have made an error, but know in this world you will surely have trouble, but also know I have overcome the world. And with this truth planted firmly in front of your mind, being fully aware of its meaning and significance, allow me to offer you the much needed comfort your heart desires. (1)
Often times the struggle is still hard and painful especially to your heart, even though in your mind you may understand the truth and significance of its value. Allow me to offer my comfort to you in your times of need. Allow yourself to experience my comfort so you will not carry these burdens on your own, but will cast them onto me, allowing me to lighten your load and ease your pain. (2)
For I am speaking to you with great precision, and intimate detail. I am not speaking as one who knows you not, but rather I am speaking as one who knows every little detail about you, and loves you still. I am speaking as one who not only knows all things, but also knows all things about you. I see your heart and despair. I see your weariness and your doubt. I see the weights that you carry, and I desire to alleviate your pain and carry your weights for you. (3)
I acknowledge all these struggles and hardships, but let me assure you my love is greater than them all. My comfort is greater than the difficulties you are presently experiencing. My comfort is greater than your obstacles, greater than the stress of calamity and uncertainty. My comfort is greater than you have previously come to know or imagine.
So receive me and my comfort in this way, this day. Drink from the cup of my joy and recreation. Drink from the cup of my fellowship, for in my presence there is joy unspeakable, joy immeasurable. Drink from the cup I have set before you, for you will find great delight in every way, and will find reduction of your hurt, heartache, and sorrow.
