I know you feel you are in a hurry. I know you feel late in many ways. I know you feel as though your prime opportunity has already passed you by. I know you feel as though you still have not discovered, nor understood, who you are, or what you are supposed to be doing with your life. I know there are many questions within you still unanswered. I know you have confusion. I know you have doubt. I know you feel overwhelmed, barely able to make it from one day to the next. And it is with all of these things in mind I invite you to come to me and allow me to guide you, speak to you, comfort you, sustain you, and inspire you.
For in this world you will have trouble, but take heart because I have already overcome the world. So when you encounter all these things, and even more, do not walk in your own strength. When you encounter the stress of your daily living, do not abide in hopelessness, doubt, or confusion, but fellowship with me and allow my spirit to speak to you and inspire you. I will give you hope. I will give you perspective. I will give you all you need, day after day, and will do so consistently and generously.
Do not walk your path alone, but remember our union together. Do not seek your answers all alone, but remember my spirit. Do not endeavor in your own strength, but rest in me, in my knowledge, and in my strength – for in all your weaknesses I am strong. So with this in mind, cast all your hurts, fears, apprehensions, questions, confusions, doubts, and anxieties on to my shoulders, for I will carry them on your behalf. Cast all your heart aches on to me, and I will make your path straight and plain to see. Cast all your shame, embarrassment, and failures on to my shoulders, and I will erase them all, as I remind you of my great and overwhelming love for you.
For in me, and with me, there is no shame. There is no condemnation. There is nothing in all creation – not the past, present, or future – that will, or can, separate you from my great love. So while we acknowledge our experience together, and we acknowledge the reality of what we experience, we do not look to these things alone, as if they are final. But instead, we venture together day after day in the reality of the greater hope awaiting for us, yet to be fully revealed.
For no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what I have in store for you. So allow me to speak to you, and allow me to remind you, and do so consistently, generously, and specifically. For I know the number of hairs on your head, not to mention all you struggle with on a daily basis. I will speak to you, not generically, but specifically. And when I do, you will know it is me, for your heart and spirit will witness to my presence, to my will, to my ways, and to my spirit – for you have received the spirit of sonship, and by it you cry out to me, “Abba, my Father!”
